The size of Japan's aerospace industry is still small compared to its automobile, electronic appliances, and electronics industries. It is approximate in scale to the aerospace industries of Great Britain or France, and one tenth the aerospace industry of the U.S.A. Some of the current aerospace products in Japan are reviewed and related structural issues are addressed in this presentation with the emphasis on composite materials.
